Every year, the auto racing events of FIA, Formula 1 World Championships would be conducted in around 20 countries across the world; the FIA is the ‘International Automobile Federation’, popularly known for its prominent role in licensing and regulating the Formula 1 motor racing events. The 2011, F 1 Grand Prix events are to be conducted in the greater Noida, Delhi; India is been selected as the 18th venue for the F 1 racing event.
This has made the millions of auto racing fans in India to go crazy about the event, as the Formula 1 is the greatest single seat auto racing event, known for its high speed racing of up to 360km/hr; this is a dream come true, not only for the fans, but also for the automobile industries, who would like to get their names listed in the sponsor’s lists of the event; industrialists, who would like to make headlines, by sponsoring and participating in the events and when it is coming to media, there would be no doubt that within this time, the competition would have started among the different media channels, especially sports channels on who is getting the lead role in broadcasting the event across the world; in short this event would definitely bring in lot of opportunities to India.
A high expectation is been built for the ‘Jaypee Group Circuit’ (it is the venue for the event), New Delhi, as it is designed and constructed by the German architect, ‘Hermann Tilke’, who is the designer of Formula 1 auto racing circuits. This has added another gem in the crown for India. The design for the Formula 1 racetrack at greater Noida would be around 5.24 km in track length with 1, 18, 000 capacity, besides other infrastructure features, such as, pit building; medical centre; maintenance / workshop buildings, media centre, etc… It is expected that the event would generate around $170 million in revenue and would have the potential of providing job opportunities to around 10, 000 people in the country.
The ‘Force India Formula 1 team’, which is an Indian, limited of the Formula 1; this would be hosting the event in the greater Noida. This team ‘Force India’ was established in the year 2007 and is headed by the renowned leading Indian businessman, ‘Vijay Mallya’, who is acting as its ‘Team Principal’. He has also conveyed his excitement regarding the ‘F 1 Grand Prix’ event in India and he expressed that it was his dream to bring the racing events of F 1 to India.
The capital of the country, i.e. Delhi has already undergoing some major infrastructure developments and enhancements, regarding the hosting of one of the largest multi-sport events, namely the ‘Commonwealth Games’; in addition to it, now the ‘Formula 1 Grand Prix’ is also scheduled to get conducted at greater Noida, Delhi, thereby amounting to a pile of infrastructure advancements in Delhi. Besides, increasing the revenue generation via advertisements; sponsorships; entertainment, etc… this would also lead to events of greater importance in the sports world, thereby making India in the headlines.
